In 2011, artist Bailey Hayes' brother, Brett, a major league catcher asked her to create some original artwork for his home. While thinking of ideas, she spotted a bag of MLB baseballs sitting next to an american flag print--and the idea was born. Brett received the original baseball constructed flag, and Bailey got to work perfecting the one of a kind idea.
With the exception of the wood frame, paint and adhesive, each flag is hand crafted completely of the deconstructed used Major League baseballs.
The white stripes and stars are made from the cowhide leather cover of the balls. The blue and red portions of the flag are made from the wool yarn found underneath the leather and painted accordingly. The signature and label of the flag are sewn out from the red lacing thread that makes a baseball recognizable.
Each one-of-a-kind flag is made 100% by hand in America.

Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, artist Bailey Hayes has a passion for creativity and a love for both the game of baseball and America. Combining these worlds, she has created a one-of-a-kind art piece through dimension and texture.
Growing up Bailey split her time between playing sports and sketching Disney cartoons and design ideas. In a sports driven family, art took a back seat until high school where she and her mother designed and created original formal dresses and costume ideas, fueling Bailey's dreams of becoming a fashion designer. After attending college for apparel design she took her skills to a small swimsuit company, designing children's swimwear, but needed a more creative outlet. What started out as a side project for her brother, is now her calling.
Epitomizing America's pastime, these 100% handmade pieces by Bailey are truly breathtaking.
